Some insight on GT3 prices at the moment would be great. Driving one this Saturday so may get the bug very bad. What would be a good price through a main dealer?

Also, not related but why does the GT3 weigh more than a 996 C2?

Stiffer chassis I believe, based on the C4.

Sorry no idea on price.

Is it a Mk1 or Mk2? Year? Mileage? Colour?

As above, heavier because it has the C4 chassis.

Not sure about Mk2s, guessing somewhere around £60-£65K? Very low mileage can be indicative of a car which was trailered to track and used exclusively for track use - not necessarily a bad thing, but doesn't mean it is in any better shape that one with 10k more on the clock which was used solely on the road.

These things are built for track though and more than capable of handling it - so what I'm maybe trying to say is that the mileage is perhaps not as important a factor as on other cars.

agree on milage just seems all the ones around right now have very low milage.

Need to get a feel on how far people are pushing dealers on price right now.

If its the one at verdi then it has been modified slightly so will have lower resale value.

Also drive a standard one to make sure you know what effect the mods have had.

I was advised to drive a Turbo as well because the GT3 is supposedly very 'raw' and not to everyones taste.

The cars at OPC dealers seem to be around £65k.

Happy hunting.

For some reason, i have noticed that silver ones go notably cheaper than any other colour in the range.

There are a few about on OPC network i think.

It's got to be speed yellow for a GT3 though

Funny, dealers always told me I'd get stung more when trying to sell a yellow one on!

Main dealer prices - most mark 2s probably sell for £63k upwards. Make sure you bargain hard for add ons that make the deal sweeter but are relatively easy give aways for the dealership.

I pulled out of a deal for a mk2 where i got them to throw in an extra 2 yrs warranty on top of the one yr they give.

Cheers

Ajit.

Just been offered 57.5k from a dealer for mine; comfort model, June 04 with 3k miles. That's just under 20k drop on the new price.

Yep, heavily involved in a new business venture for Thatcham Cat 5 tracker devices for motorbikes. Lack of use was brouht home to me at teh weekend when the car wouldn't start due to a flat battery, hadn't used it in five weeks. Hows the mini going?

Don't work too hard!

Picked it up on Saturday and first impressions very positive, it is very quick even running it in, and the uprated works suspension wheels and tyres makes it feel as stiff as the GT3

Had a stab at persuading the wife that she needed a mini but she insists on 5 doors, so likely to be a 1 series bmw.
