I would say it was lucky - ultimately you also need some degree of luck / good fortune to win a race this long - doesn't take anything away from the performance

I was there and the number 2 winning car ran faultlessly for 24 hours including 30 pitstops and a total of over 3,200 miles so I am afraid my friend you don't know what you are talking about.

I think what you meant to say was that the number 5 Toyota was unlucky as it too ran faultlessly before it stopped allowing the 919 to pass. And Anthony Davidson's stint before he handed over to Kazuki Nakajima was incredible. He overtook the the 919 on the Mulsanne and built up a 30 second lead. Great driving

Toyota were incredibly unlucky - but Porsche also had their own bad luck, with No. 1 being in the pits for 40-odd laps. Just feels worse when you're so close, rather than being hit by an issue early on.
