Just deciding whether to get the fire extinguisher fitted on my car - can anyone who has it fitted please tell me if it prevents the passenger seat moving forward at all? Also, can you still use the footwell mat when it is fitted?

Thanks

I'd assume similar the the norm GT3
if so, then it does restrict the full range on forward movement.
you do get some however - no-ones complained in mine yet !

It also renders use of the passenger mat impossible, that said, mine is fitted.

Yes it does and it buggers up the floor mat too.

A good carpet shop will be able to sort out the mat. I managed to get our one to cut out and re trim a Porsche mat to fit around a 996 fire extinguisher which obviously sits in the middle of the footwell. The central edge was finished exactly the same as the outside so looks like it was made like that.

Ps I think it cost me £10 to have done.

The fire extinguisher presents no problem at all. My OPC ( D.Lovett Tewkesbury) installed it so that the seat moves as intended plus the fitment does not incroach on leg room in the footwell. Also it is perfectly easy to remove the carpet mat for cleaning. Enjoy your awesome car!

The fixing bracket for the fire extinguisher has 2 long vertical channels for the screws so adjusting the height it sits at is easy. Some OPC's have done a poor job, taken the mat out and fixed it at floor level. It doesn't need to be like that, just ask them to leave the mat in place when they fit it.

However, the extinguisher does sit in the way of the seat forward/back pull if you have the 918/LWB seats. I can only move mine a small way forward before the seat adjustment pull comes up against the rear of the extinguisher.
