1978 Varioram SC stolen in Oslo

Hi guys, had my car stolen 2 days ago from a locked garage.
If someone sees this car, 3.000 pound reward. I miss her dearly....

The Ruf is still in germany with a premium dealer, but Im getting that car home in a month or two. To be honest Im not sure if I will ever drive the thing, just too valuable ( Im just a regular bloke with a mid level pay) - perhaps a porsche meet every now and then.

yeah at 1150 kiloes this thing bloody flies, the varioram engine is a proper barrelchested thing with so little mass to push along!
lovely midrange torque too, the 3000-4000 thrust feels stronger than a 3.2 from 5000 and up!

The SC was done by some well off guy , think he plew 45-50 grand into it - luckily not me.
Was planning on driving up to warrington and having it mapped by Wayne schofield in 2 weeks time, obviously that has to be postponed now as a scrote nicked it and it looks like he had a gang bang in the cabin. Its got 3.6 Patrick Motorsport SSI/Dansk headers. quite vocal.

The RUF is a high miler ( 120.000 miles) - so to be honest its neither fish and fowl, collectors wont touch a 200.000 KM car , maybe a good excuse to rag it like a summer holiday fling?

Use it buddy. Most guys buying one of these would look at when last engine, gearbox, suspension refresh had been done. Very rare car so a buyer can't really be fussy. Being used actually keeps one of these in fine fettle. I think I'm going green (mint) with envy!

Great to hear you got your car back, it’s a horrible feeling when this sort of thig happens! If it’s only interior damage, then hopefully easily sorted.

Gearbox was overhauled by RUF last year with documentation, other than that I have not a single piece of history on the car.
probably not clocked at 197.000 KM though

RUF charges around 30.000 pounds for a full engine overhaul, called em and had to lie down for a bit after that

Considering how expensive Ruf normally are thats not bad for an engine refresh when you consider how special your car is. Modern day supercars would have a hard time keeping ahead of it on track. Amazing!

Still not a bad years pay after taxes for most people - but I guess we have no business owning such cars!

Remember Toby993t on here saying the bills from the former ( RICH!!!) french owner of his CTR scared him, and thats a guy delivering blank checks to RS Tuning

Ah well, nothing like being out of your depth with old porkers - what a time to be alive!
