981 Cayman vs 997.2 911

Hi chaps,
I'm currently in the market for one of these two cars. Apart from the obvious differences like number of seats and engine location etc, i'm keen to find out which is "easier to live with" in terms of more mundane stuff.
Specifically then, i'm wondering which of these cars would be more "refined" in terms of tyre roar/road noise when used for the odd long uk motorway schelp or euro road trip?
I've heard that cayman 981's are quite noisy in this regard? Wonder if 997.2 would be a bit more comfortable for lonh trips, even though they are obviously an older design. interested in your thoughts! cheers

981 Cayman more refined in my opinion having driven one and own a 997.2 Turbo. I liked the handling in the Cayman as well, but my personal vote is the 997.2, reasons....its a 911, best shape/style they have made to date, and its got more room in it. If room is not a limiting factor and you prefer better refinement then the 981 Cayman is a good place to put your money just make sure you get the 'S', the non S i drove was gutless.
I just spent 2 years and almost 25k miles in a 981 Cayman S PDK.
I have just changed it.
After looking at various options, I stumbled across a 997 GTS at my local Porsche Centre. I bought it without even driving it and am extremely pleased with it.
The Cayman S is a great car, easy to drive, easy to live with, and plenty of nice touches. Great on fuel and comfortable for long motorway journeys. It is very, very good but ultimately I never fully fell in love with it.
The GTS is a different animal. It drives very differently and, in my opinion, is infinitely more rewarding. Any potential owner would really need to drive both and see which they prefer. 981 feels much more modern, is much more modern. It has start/stop, electric handbrake, you can Bluetooth music from your phone, there is a snazzy electronic gauge that shows the satnav in the instrument cluster, the PDK gearbox had a coasting mode etc.
With the 997, run over a packet of crisps and the steering wheel tells you what flavour they were. I love it.
