Solid colours

Im thinking about a new 991.2 GTS, which I understand should be announced in the UK in September. A friend has a 997 GTS in guards red and it look stunning. Thoughts on solid colours as opposed to metallic colours!

Personally, I'd choose solid colours on GT cars or race-style cars (low, spoilers, buckets, black wheels etc)

Metallics on road-only or comfort-spec cars.

Personal preference though at the end of the day!

Solid colours are certainly easier to keep looking fresh when it comes to painting in stone chips, etc.

GT cars should be solid colours in my view. The cars tend to have more dramatic shapes and it accentuates angles and lines.

Paint to sample is the way to go for a GT car.

Solid colour every time...mine is Guards Red and I recently saw Carmine Red up close no comparison the solid looks much better.

If you can I'd go PTS, world is your Oyster! And financially I think it works out as PTS cars sell very quickly and for good prices (bonus not that you should spec for resale) I dithered on a 991.1 GTS in Grigio Campovolo which OPC Glasgow had at the end of last year.....in hindsight I regret it. The car they had the ducktail too which I really like but some don't. Solid colour can definitely work on a GTS.

Very similar to Fashion Grey and I also read somewhere that you can now order PTS's cars in the same colour as the 997 Sport Classic which used to be banned.

Gulf Blue is another solid colour which personally I think looks great.

As has been said above, I think a solid colour needs a spoiler of some sort. Add a ducktail and PTS to a GTS and it should look great.

Besides the buckets, PTS is my favourite option on my GT4.

A good PTS colour really makes it feel far more special than the white Cayman I had previously. PTS for me every time now.

Yep, GC rules. Ordered mine from Hatfield - the wait was excrutiating but in a nice way and worth it to me.
