Rear facing child seat in a 911

No...and I tried very hard!

I tried fitting a BeSafe Izi Combi, Britax Duo Plus and Britax Romer in my 996 Turbo but all to no avail. The problem is the lack of space for the floor support (which needs to be at a certain angle) plus the need for tether points on the front seat (to prevent recoil in a crash).

We bit the bullet and bought a couple of daily "snotters" for transporting the kids (early Cayenne and Mazda 6) but watch out as many snotters also lack tether points on the front seat.

I just had a rear facing seat in the back of my 996 turbo, Bertha's any issues.

maxi cosi cabriofix in the back on mine fits fine. Just use the seatbelt to secure the seat rather than sitting it on a seat base (easybase).

As above, I had no issues in my C2 Cab and Turbo.

So much better when they are forward facing.

It was the carbio fix i had and now im currently using the maxi cosi tobi. Which did you use in you cab as the seats are different.

It was the cabrio fix, it was a few years ago the girls are now 6 and 8. I'll see if I have any pictures of it in the back of the car.

Once they get old enough get some bubblegum blow up booster seats. £25 from halfords and they fit perfectly in the back seats. Also great for taking away and hiring a car as they deflate.

I am looking at buying a 996/7 around xmas time and will need to fit our little boy who will be 6 months by then. I think he will have grown out of his maxicosi pebble by then so will still probably want something rear facing for him but no idea what!

We are looking at 911's as they seem to be the only proper sorts car that you have a hope of fitting a baby into!

the cabriofix is good up to 11-14 months depending on baby size.

Unfortunately im not sure if anyone is allowed/wife will let me not use a backed booster seat.

Our 13 month old little girl is still in the Pebble
I have a convertible that has even less space than the coupe
It is only possible to get a rear facing seat in with the pax seat fully forward and then a passenger can't get in
If it's just for you & the baby, you can get the ISOFIX kit for the front fitted to 996 and 997 for about £500 and that includes the critical airbag deactivation switch
I was pretty keen to keep my 997 when we had our first so ended up suplimenting it with an Evoque
You can't realistically get the kit for trips and holidays into a 997 anyway

My wife managed to do infront of my daughter and she's 5 foot 3 and a peanut (wife not daughter) and she never complained, or if she did I ignored her

we have an xc90 for the daily stuff but wife and I both wanted something fun. She is 5 foot 6 so might struggle with the seat all the way forward.

Looks like we might have to wait until the little one can fit into a forward facing seat

I have looked into this a lot and think that you are best waiting until FF seats are an option. My wife goes in the back and our boy (18 months) in the front. And she does not like it much...
