Girodisc

Hello

Anyone used Girodisc on their Porsche. If so were they any good. I quite like the idea of switching to a 2 piece disc rather than a big heavy single piece disc.

Yes - had them all round on my 996 GT3. Were great for both road and track use.

Were they for replacing standard steel or fancy carbon discs?

For standard steels.

In my case I was also looking for something that would withstand heavy track use. The other leading contender would be Alcons but they were a bit too dear and the GyroDiscs perform perfectly well.

To be honest not checked latest pricing as I've been happy with the GDs for a couple of years and replaced like for like. When I started looking GD/PFC were about the same price with Alcons a fair bit higher. Maybe that has changed

I have tried PFC as well but found the discs did not last very long under heavy track use.

Where are you sourcing your GDs?

I had mine installed at Nine Excellence. They have been using them on their VMax high speed turbos.

I have GD on my 996 GT3 too. I like them. Im running Pagid RS29 pads. Very nice set up for fast road and track. I bought mine from Ken at 9E.
