Help Please - Cooling Fan will not stop
Discussion
Hello All!!
The cooling fans will not turn off in my 944 S2. I went into the fuse box and there is a fuse for each fan. If I take them both out the fans stop.
There seems to be a fan relay (G10) Does anybody know what the problem may be???? Is it the relay????? Any other suggestions????
Thanks
(I tried to search - but it's disabled?????)

Don't know the 944 specifically, but normally cooling fans are switched off and on by a thermostatic switch screwed into the radiator. Unplug the wires into the back of the switch and see if the fans stop - if so replace the switch and she'll be right.
If the circuit does have a relay in it, then it could be a stuck relay, but I'd put my money on the thermostatic switch being the problem.
Best of luck

as nel says, the usual cause is the thermo switch in the rad. I presume the S2 is the same as the turbo, in which case the switch is on the right hand side of the rad (looking in from the front bumper) about half way down. Only about £20 - when mine went I got one from www.partsforporsche.co.uk/osc/
Its very awkward to get at but is DIY-able, although you will probably have to bleed the coolant system afterwards, which is a pig.
