Imo carmine looks great in photos and in bright sunshine! Was going to go for the colour on my gt4 but changed my mind after seeing it on a 911!
Funny, it was a 991 GTS I saw in the flesh at my local OPC that made me love the colour. The photos tend to make it look too bright. I like the dark, 'Alfa' blood red. It's a lovely colour in bright sunlight. But the lack of metallic means it flattens the contours, and the 911 and Cayman I've seen in Carmine makes them look like they've 'melted'. A Carmine GT4 passed me earlier this week in grey overcast conditions, and truth be told... Carmine looked dull and flat.
People get an erection about maritime and other PTS blues that, to me, look really ordinary in bad light.
So for me, that wouldn't put me off - carmine looks great to me - really special, and more interesting than guards red for sure. The fact it looks better when clean and in good light is surely true for any colour.
