Hi all,

Was at the recent Oulton Park trackday watching, and was impressed with the Mk1 GT3's there..(very nice black one was pretty quick around the track!)

I'm new to Porsches, but am reading and learning quick..I read that the GT3's have no underseal in order to keep weight down? Does this pretty much exclude them from being UK daily winter drivers?..Surely they're prone to rotting away in the next few years?

I know the GT3 daily driver thing has been supposedly covered a lot, but the search facility doesn't currently work...

Many thanks.

David.

They do have underseal but less of it than other 911's AFAIK

The body is fully galvanised anyway - have you ever seen a rusty 996?

They can happily be driven in all weather but be careful in the wet with you right foot

Not sure about underseal, but there are a couple of large aerodynamic panels which will keep a lot of the crud off.
