Coool. D'you reckon the engine would fit in a Nova? It'd make a cool noise in McDonald's car park

I was speaking to someone at Porsche Chiswick who told me that one had been written off on the A3 - £170K worth of damage. He said the insurance company has just ordered a replacement but it'll take a year.

Was that yours?

you talkin' to me??

If so - no that's probably not my old one - the bloke who bought it off me thoroughly sorted it out and it ended up being featured in a magazine (Fast Ford? I think).

Mine was excellent but had some really dodgy behaviour on hard cornering... the subsequent owner found out that someone had fitted the wrong length driveshaft on one side!!! (the FRP driveshafts are apparently different each side and are colour coded). Needless to say, I wasn't aware of this at the time.

I still reckon a FRP with more torque and power (a supercharger would do the job) would be an awesome drivers car. I wonder whether a Mini Cooper eaton M45 would be man enough??

Anyway, vastly off topic, sorry

It will be very interesting to see what the remains of this poor bu66ers car sells for. What does Joel want for the one he has £340K? And this ones been written off for approx. £170K`s worth of damage...Surely not repairable under the railway arches with a bit of fibreglass!

Can`t see CGT many owners that would pop down to the breakers yard to pick up a cheap near side carbon fibre door in Seal Grey (or any other colour you have in at the moment)!

So, what would anyone want with it?

The engine?? Let's say you're lucky enough to own a CGT and you blow the engine up (no paddle shifts and software here, just a gearbox and ceramic clutch). I suppose if the crashed car was cheaper than a replacement engine from Porsche, or Porsche quoted 6 months to build a replacement engine, then you may need it.... assuming the carbon tub / structure is beyond repair, the drivetrain is the main salvageable component...

Also would going over the engineering with a fine-tooth comb be interesting for competitors like Ferrari?? Unless they already managed to buy one - then again with the Enzo, they only sold to 'established enthusiasts' which presumably didn't include representatives of their competitors

Other than that, I wonder if the seats would fit in my 993

Off topic again - the smiley I've stuck on this (white face, red nose) isn't on the Smiles Legend page. What is it??? Does it have a code???
