Aqua Blue and stone chips?
Discussion
I am interested in a Boxster in lovely Aqua Blue however a previous blue Lotus Elise I owned suffered terribly with stone chips on the front and down the sills which showed up badly as white dots all over the blue paint.
How does the Porsche Aqua blue stand up to chips, I would appreciate any owner views?
Cheers

I have certainly picked up a few stone chips over the years with various coloured Porsches and haven't found the Aqua Blue to be more of an issue. I use Chipex to repair my GT3's stone chips with good results. I think the base cote is a light colour on all, so the darker shades especially black show the chips more than the whites, silvers and yellows etc.
We have an Aqua Blue Boxster S which we bought new in May 2013. It has done 7,500 miles. I think the stone chips do show up badly and I am disappointed by the general damage in the paint. It is worst on the nose and not too bad down the sides. My 2012 White Cayman R by comparison has done 12,000 miles including track days and has no where near as many chips.
However, the Boxster is a lovely car in Aqua Blue and if it comes to it, you can always have the front resprayed.
If you live in Hertfordshire you are welcome to come round and see for yourself.
