Cayenne Coolant Display

I have a 2012 Cayenne S, and a message is coming up intermittently saying "Coolant Display Defective" everything seems to be working fine, but message comes up every now and again, any one else had this issue ? Any ideas ?

If you get the display and the temp gauge goes off the scale and the light flashes it is likely the header tank connections; intermittent / resistive contacts give the same symptoms - check the level cold - if it's OK then I would start there. As the level sensor works in the same way there will be no fault code - open circuit = low level.

Header tank needs to be removed to access the connections (short tail on the loom there).

Can you please share more information what you had to do to fix it? I started seeing the same thing on my 2011 Cayenne. Seems like coolant temperature sensor has gone bad but I want to be better informed before I take it to the shop.
