Imagine they started the 918 not in "sport mode" but in "race" or "hot lap mode" where the spoiler sits up from the start, the car would have been around 20 percent quicker.

These guys clearly don't know how to drive one of these properly.

A shame they did not bother to record the top speeds achieved of each car through the mile marker

I've yet to see a factory car quicker than a 918 over a mile. The way it launches and covers a mile really is sight to behold. Unbelievable it doesn't break the launch is so savage.

To be fair he may have done a lot of runs and his batts were down, quite a big difference when launching in "Hot Lap mode" over sport, but batts need to be over 60-70%

Leon (the owner) knows more about the 918 than probably most owners, and could drive rings around them. Don't take one snippet of the day to be indicative of the whole day.

As it happens, the surface was crazy grippy and was destroying tyres. The 918 had already done many many laps of Spa on them so he didn't want to destroy them completely and went for softer launches. Still ate the LT for breakfast.

I'm surprised by the speed of the 570S to be honest. Never realised they where so quick.

I suspect we were watching different vids. It certainly beat the LT, but "ate it for breakfast" ? You're having a laugh. If anything I'd be embarrassed it beat it by so little. Made the LT look like something of a performance bargain by comparison.

Right could just be the best buy here. I love that F12 though.

The 540C can be had for about £130k with only a small drop in outright performance from the 570S, I would suggest that is in fact the performance bargain.

The owner bought the car new, not sure on the history of the plate? There are a few POR 918_ plates around.
