I prefer the front bumper on your car. There is no real difference that I can see style wise apart from bumpers and door handles.

The main difference will the the manual gearbox and I suppose slightly more power?

Exactly! This article goes against every other piece of correspondence for the gen 2 car being a 4.0 carryover. Going to cling on to the hope that it will be a 4.0 till the specs confirm outright.

In any case, the slight / small styling changes and the addition of a manual doesn't really a gen 2 make / do enough to separate it from the gen 1. Going by previous (996 / 997) models the step has previously been a 'fairly' significant one...

I agree. Theres always be a 200cc increase, there will be one again...

Think you'll find between generations there has been that increase not between models, especially when they employ a new engine that they can exploit more power from without having to increase - thus saving the capacity hike for the 'usual' generation refresh...

Corrected for you - interesting (and thanks) as I thought the 996 also had a change. We will see I guess. I did hear that max the RS engine could go was 4.2 and that would allow some 'play' for the next model 911 (if true of course)

Yes I meant between generations not models but as Moose says, we are on thin ice with that one!

I still prefer the looks of the gen 1 judging by these pics...
