997 C2S 2006 Pads & Discs

Guys,

My 2006 997 C2S is due for new discs & pads. Can anyone advise best place to get new ones and what you would recommend?

I am South Leicestershire based.

I don't whether they're the same as a 996? I bought the whole lot from Eurocarparts and did it myself in about 4 hours. The parts were on a 30% off weekend and cost around £260. It really is a basic job to do and you can see some "how to" videos on YouTube to see exactly what's involved.

Wow, that's cheap.

I have been quoted over £ 800.00. That is for Sebro discs which I'm told were fitted by Posrche from new. Both Pagid and Brembo are substantially cheaper. Are they not as good or would anyone recommend either Pagid or Brembo (or any other make) as being preferable?

I fitted Pagid all round. There's a 25% off code running currently xmas25.

My independent Porsche specialist replaced the rear discs and pads on my Cayman 987.2 S for £350 all in including wear sensors and damper plates. The pads were Pagid but I can't recall what the discs were. I think, but don't quote me, they were either Pagid too or Textar. 14 months on and 10,000 miles they all seem to be fine

I have been using Pagid discs on various porsches for many years. (Porsche dont actually make brake discs!)

Absolutely no problems at all. They stop the car just as well as any other quality disc.

Euro car parts seem to have the lowest prices as long as you use the latest and ever changing discount code.

If you still have a Porsche warranty prepare to pay about 4 fold the actual cost With a 2006 car this probably doesnt apply?

I thought Sebro were a cheaper alternative to the OEM Porsche (ie Brembo) discs....

yup - I bought Sebro for the 993 instead of Porsche ones as there were significantly cheaper at the time...maybe things have changed eh.
