Slow 997 crank on starting solved - after 8 years!

After being told "they all do that sir"; "you need a new battery" (twice);"it's the starter" and ""it's heat soak and high resistance in the cable" I have finally done what I should have done day 1 and put a decent battery in my wife's 2008 997 4S (the high CCA Bosch S5 ) and the car spins up like it was designed to - like a normal car 
And Eurocarparts have got them on sale at £105 delivered at the moment in case you are in the same boat.
Why do Porsche insist on using such a crap battery? It is not like I am the only one to ask over the years.

First thing I did after buying my 2007 997. Bosch battery bought for £86, the car now starts beautifully at minus 5 and plus 25
The Porsche garage spotted it as a "variance" on the health check at service. They virtually told me off for it. I don't have an OPC warranty
Note how the Germanic thinking refuses to accept the improvement as good, merely a "Variance"
I now hold open the door of the shed with the old Moll battery, a job it does admirably at minus 5 and plus 25 !
