987.2 - blank PCM screen and other strange behaviour
Discussion
Hi All
I started the car up yesterday and the radio came on (as it always does annoyingly) but the screen remained blank. I was leaving for a hospital appointment so didn't have chance to investigate. When I got home I checked the fuses but all were fine. I switched the ignition on and it sprang back to life. One thing I have now noticed is that when starting the engine the PCM 'reboots' and the Porsche logo startup sequence commences. Thing is I can't remember if it's always done this.
Would a low battery cause this? It's almost like the battery power is being reserved/diverted to the starter and there's no enough left to keep the PCM powered. I'll check the voltage at the terminals when I get chance.
Any help appreciated.
James.
