Seems a bit over the top making out like all manufacturers are going back to bigger engines because one manufacturer has done it in one model.

I for one like the small turbocharged engines, they're much more usable than the NA competitors.

How mature is cylinder deactivation technology as that is surely something Porsche considered for the 718?

Or did the easy to access performance from a turbo simply 'trump' it?


In the next 3-5 years I assume that either:

1. The turbo on some models will be replaced by an electric turbo.
2. The front wheels on some models will be driven by electric motors i.e. hybrid.
