PCM 2.1 issues

Morning fellas

I've got an issue on my 06 Cayman PCM system.

It has "frozen" on the map location, showing the car not moving on the maps screen when I'm driving. I don't use the nav much but presumably it wouldn't work as it doesn't know where the car is!

The first time it happened it was while I was driving along, the location just stuck. I cured it with a battery reset but it happened again after a few hundred miles.

This time the battery reset did not work but I did a scan of the car (I do diagnostics on mainstream kit and have some basic Porsche kit) and found a few communication faults etc, nothing in PCM but after clearing all the codes the map started working again.

It failed again after a short time and now will not reset via fault codes or battery.

Does anyone have any tech info about how the system works or any known faults of this type?

It looks like there's a separate Nav Module that feeds the info to PCM, presumably the GPS aerial goes to that?
