Chipped/cracked windscreen on a 981 Cayman S

Hi everyone - it's been a while! I have just had a chip on my wnidscreen which has a small star cracking around it - it's not in the driver's line of sight and is about 8mm in length (so it seems like it can be replaced). The car is a PCP and so I need to adhere to warranty standards etc. Does anyone know of any quality repairers in the London area (ideally someone mobile).

Yes, I meant repaired, thanks!! Any ideas how much it might cost to repair? It's not a rain sensing windscreen.

A glass repair is a glass repair, irrespective of the spec. Can you post up an image of the damage (for the benefit of anyone else reading)?

I would only use Glassman (above) for any windscreen related issues on my Porsche.

He did a perfect fix on a chip bigger than yours on my car, but i would also use him if the screen
needed replacing- he is a proper enthusiast craftsman.

I've used Paul (Glassman) twice to replace the screens on my 997. I also wouldn't have anyone else do the work.
Whilst he was at my house he undertook a chip repair on my wife's BMW. Perfect.
I'm also a member of TIPEC (Kent Chapter) and all the guys and girls know to use him when required.

How does this work when using insurance. Do they not just send out an Autoglass bloke to do the job as cheap as possible or can you nominate a repairer?

Much depends on who you're insured with, and what the terms of that policy are. Or, to put a finer point on it, what you accepted and signed before policy inception.

Generally, the cheaper 'all singing and dancing with a telly advert' insurers tend not to be so accommodating as per your comment above.

I also recommend Glassman, a true professional and craftsman which is very rare.
