1st week in a 991 - disappointing
Discussion
The engine is incredible in 991.1S guise. I love the manual gearbox and PSE. The handling is superb.
But.... the PCM is rubbish and keeps defaulting to factory settings on start up. There are a few rattles that are annoying.
Oh and the climate system is like something from 30 years ago. I've driven home in the rain and the windscreen was constantly steamed up and wouldn't clear with blower on full. The last car I remember doing that was my old 996 from 2001! Basically it was borderline undriveable but for the fact I had a cloth in the car to wipe it!
I've had a lot of cars (over 100) and I can only remember two of them giving me back ache - both 911s. Well that's now 3 cars and make that three 911s. I just can't believe that it doesn't feel like it has progressed that much in certain aspects.
I'm gutted tbh.

Check all the vents are open. Porsche lent me a cayman and it kept misting up terribly until I realised someone had shut all the dashboard vents off. Once opened it was fine.But.... the PCM is rubbish and keeps defaulting to factory settings on start up. There are a few rattles that are annoying.

I had a 991.1 S cab for a week.
Didn't have any problems with windscreen misting up in rain, drove it in heavy downpour with no issues. Yours has a problem.
Engine I thought was good, not exceptional. Not a scratch on my 997 GT3.
Get it sorted, nice everyday car but didn't get my pulse going even when pressing on. Good alrounder though. Thought the infotainment was actually good.

Possibly a corroded/damaged condenser that's leaking, so no gas left in the system. If corrosion then they'll be done under warranty. Perhaps they'd rather fix it under warranty than as part of the car prep?! The system should demist without issues regardless of the climate control 'intensity'.
Maybe a factory reset on the PCM?
