Anybody bought a car from this place and can give me their views?

Am off to go and buy a 996 cab tomorrow with a friend of mine and they have 3 potentially suitable cars so would be good to know if they are a good outfit or alternatively if they should be avoided.

Comments gratefully received before we trek from London to Coventry!

Yes, I bought my 993 from them. Lash, who's now MD of the company, was very helpful, and offered plenty of after-sales service. Can't speak too highly of them really.

Batster,

Autobahn have been about for ages and their relatively new premises on the A45 in Cov is very nice. Cars are slightly overpriced, but can't fault advice and service.

If you're coming up from London via the M1/M45/A45 route, watch out for unmarked plod on the M45 and scameras/Gatso/Truvelo on the A45 through the roadworks to Cov.

All the best
Matt

Bought a C4S & a Turbo from them recently.

The C4S had a couple of minor things that needed sorting a couple of months after taking it - they sorted them no hassle.

I dealt with a chap called Paul - very helpful throughout the process.

They even replaced my Porsche umbrella FOC without argument when I lost it changing from the C2 to the C4S I bought from them, even though I wasn't sure it was them that had lost it.

Got my 993 from them in 2002 - Top blokes, wouldn't hesitate to recommend them and I'd definitely go back there for another car

I've never bought a car from them but I've had a look around their showroom a few times (though I've not been to their new site). Their cars are not cheap but a couple of mates of mine have bought cars from them and would not hesitate to recommend them.

I first went there about six years ago with a few guys from the Surrey region Porsche club GB and they let us all drive a newish Boxster with about 3K miles on the clock which thought was a nice touch. Lash is a really nice bloke.

I had a very bad experience of them im afraid, the end result being that we sold our Boxster after 4 months to get us out of the mess that we were in after buying a car from them.

Very nice chaps.
Bought my 993 there and have been thoroughly impressed by their after sales service.
They said no quibble and actually meant it.

My advice would be to make sure that you deal directly with Lash or Paul. They are the owners of the business. Phone ahead and make an appointment with one of the two, not with anybody else.

I travelled from the Northwest a couple of times to Autobahn to buy my porsche. I would highly recommend them; much better customer service than the 2 local OPC's. I dealt with Nim who was very helpful.

I bought a 993 Turbo from them at a cost of £50k, it turned out that they had bought it back from a previous customer as it was underpowered, they sold it to me without declaring this. It subsequently had a full top end rebuild at a cost of £9k, in fairness to them they did pay. They knew there was a serious problem with the car yet they sold it to me with the hope that I would not notice.

Not long after getting the car back after the rebuild I noticed an oil leak from the Turbos's, they had to be refurbished at a cost of £1,850, they said they would pay half the cost. I declined their offer and I am in the process of sueing them for the full amount.

If you are going to buy a car from Autobahn I would treat it as a private sale because you can't trust them.

Ken you have a great looking car,I hope you get it sorted out,,,I saw it at another specialist last year for the engine rebuild. Having heard what happened at the time I was astonished......as you say you have to consider such a purchase as a private sale. I wonder if they would have let an independent specialist check it out before you bought it?

Thanks Paul.

The car is sorted, and it does look great with the Turbo S spoiler.
