They were just scaremongering as usual.
I had a Carnewal exhaust on a previous car, it looks exactly the same as stock and it's only loud at high revs/high load so I doubt they would have noticed just rolling it onto the ramps.

Im currently considering the Carnewal for my Gen 1 Cayman S. I'm assuming you're a fan - is it that different to stock at lower RPM and is there any drone?
