I just wondered about the "Home" function on my 997.1.
If I leave the switch on "Home" the front and rear fog light stays on for 30 seconds if you lock or unlock the car.
Mine does only do so when it is dark. Is that how it should work by default? What sensor does it use to determine that? The one in the instrument cluster or the one in the PCM? I don't have auto lights, nor whipper.
I ask this because I performed the $2 DRL solution for fog lights hack from 6speed shortly after I bought the car. I didn't pay attention how it worked prior to the hack.
Some people state that their "Home" function work even in bright daylight. The manual unfortunately is not clear on this subject. My german manual simply states "to have a better visibility when it is dark". It does not actually state, whether it only turns on if it is dark.
How does this work on your 997/987?

I did have an e-manual on my laptop somewhere but buggered if I can find it now, so this is purely guesswork but I'm pretty sure it's either:
A) Caused by a setting in the Sports Chrono package (if you've got it) as it's one of a number of functions which can be changed if it is, like interior light delay time, etc. or
B) Similar, but linked to the auto-dimming feature of the mirrors (again, if fitted) as I think they can be used to sense darkness or the lack of, and not trigger the Home lights if it's daylight.

I got neither the Sports Chrono package, nor the auto mirrors. The only sensor that I am aware off are the two I mentioned before: The one in the instrument cluster and the one in the PCM.
How does the Home function work in your car? Only during daytime?
