Not happy with dealer

I have had my porsche for 2 months and loving it. However, I have a couple of issues that need sorting. It needed to be booked in for a couple of days, so I had to wait FOUR weeks for a loan car to be made available.
Car goes in tomorrow, and I have just been told the loan car is a merc A class !!!!! I know it sounds a bit snobby, but if you pay £120k plus on a new car, I would expect a better loan car.
All my previous cars, Audis, BMWs, RR, I at least got a mid size car.
As a new porsche owner, I am asking the question, is this normal from Porsche dealers. ????

I've had three loan cars to date:

1) Porsche Macan S diesel - I just took what I was offered
2) Porsche 718 S Boxster - I requested this especially in advance so I could try the 4-pot.
3) BMW 520d - again, just what was offered.

I would imagine if you use a Porsche owned OPC you'll always get a Porsche, if a franchise you'll get what they offer you but I would say a BMW/Merc was acceptable.

I'd be quite happy with an A-class Merc for a few days.

Always considered Porsche 'loan cars' slightly devalues the brand.

Do Rolls Royce or Ferrari owners get a similar marque when their cars go in for service?

To be honest this really is a storm in a tea cup, would you be more unhappy if you didn't get a loan car at all.

Which dealer is servicing your car? After my last service the car needed over £4k in bodywork repairs so I would be more concerned with what they are doing to your car.

What did they say when you complained?

I wouldn't worry about getting a Porsche loan car, the last time I got a very nice new Merc C-class and I loved it and I hate auto's with a passion.

If they knocked the price of the loan car hire from the service I wouldn't take one at all...I'll try that next time.

My OPC always give Porsche's as loan cars and the sales department is pretty free with their demos. They are typically busy two or three weeks in advance if you need a loan car. OP what were the issues that neede sorting ? Also did you speak to the sales dept ? If it was a serious issue I am surprised they didn't give you a demo car which would be different from getting one of the service dept's loan cars.

I live an hour away...they're also happy to pick up and deliver my car back. Although I like the chance of driving something else. Not like they make a bad car.

I've read not all OPC's are the same and as for other manufacturers it would have nothing to do with VW group it would be about which other manufacturers franchises they have in the dealer group. I.e. The sale chap I deal with has a BMW company car. The only people that actually run Porsche's are the DP and Head of Sales as they can get the Panny or Cayenne Hybrid which are cheap to run because of the tax. All the sales people are desperate for a Macan hybrid to be launched!

Is is Wilmslow by any chance? You will find it's an A class low spec diesel. I was similarly disappointed. Option- use a different OPC.

I've always been given decent loan cars when mines been in for servicing at Mid Sussex and Tonbridge

Last one was a very well spec'd Cayenne 4.5 diesel

The black V8 Cayenne from Tonbridge? It is a bit beaten up but a brute nonetheless.

BMW actually offer to obtain a hire car for you to use if no loaners are available, not sure as to the calibre though.

Maserati's generally with Ferrari, although I was lent a 488GTB for a couple of weeks when the delivery was delayed on a new acquisition.

It was a silver one, pretty much brand new from memory, I expected to hate it but ended up considering buying a 4x4.
