Wheel repair?

Annoyingly I managed to nudge a rear rim against a high kerb while exiting a car park in France last week. Why the buggers put the exit barrier on a 90 degree corner is anyone's guess.

Anyway I need to get the rim refurbished and wonder if anyone has experience of using their Porsche dealer and were they satisfied or if I should just take it to a rim repair place? I am guessing my Porsche dealer (Reading) will be twice as expensive.

Another vote for Lepsons in Gillingham, Kent.

They will be the people doing the repair on behalf of most dealers and specialists in the south east.

I think you will find that even if you take your wheel to your dealer they will 100% farm out the job to a specialist wheel refurber.

They pick up and collect at some dealers. Ask them who they have nearby.

I dropped my Turbo at PC West London this week for the same problem. They said 3 days and they would sub the job out. Damn hotel car parks...

Me too, it's the stupid high kerbs at the chicane when you leave roundabouts in northern France . A friend of mind has given up being an estate agent in Brittany and has started a wheel refurb business . And he's making more money!

As for OPC Reading, a dealer I will never let touch my car ever again. If my 911 broke down outside their front door I absoutely would call a recovery truck.

Well for a wheel repair I mentioned them but generally I agree. Even though I live in Berkshire last two services I have visited OPC Solihull. Reading left oily hand prints all over the pale interior of my last car and even when I returned it to them for cleaning it came back grubby. I cleaned it myself and vowed never to use them again.

Sounds like you got away lightly, mine needed a week in a body shop to sort out the mess.
