Driving home yesterday and my daughter kept saying she could smell ear wax, then she said it was really strong and at that point a warning message came up 'fault cooling system visit garage'.

Is this a common fault?

It's odd but I noticed yesterday afternoon how throaty the exhaust sounded without the sports exhaust on. Wonder if it's linked.

Oh and to top it off as I was emptying the car late last night I caught some toe rag in a hoodie walking up the drive who obviously saw the car door open with interior light on and thought no one was around. He was obviously on the pinch as we live on a quiet country lane.

TADT. Some kind of rubber pipe that leaks.

So a 'feature' of the car?? Funny they never mention it on the spec sheet :0)

That's what forums are for! It's a stupid message, as it's unrelated to the cooling system.

I had a yellow "cooling system fault" message a few times on my Cayman S.

The PSE flaps and the valves that open and close the coolant pipes that go to the front of the car are vacuum operated from the same system.

Mine went back to the OPC twice to have it sorted and they said one of the vacuum lines had been incorrectly routed and movement of the engine under load had caused one of the pipes to come off. The coolant valves fail open so still safe to drive.
