My 996 is going in for a gearbox rebuild tomorrow with them.
Drive in drive out 2 year/25k mile guarantee £2500 all in witch seems cheap as a lot of places were 3k with me sending them the box on a pallet.

Was going to have the ims done at the same time but they want £2500 to do that alone, When asked why so much i was told the only way to change it right was to split the engine cases.

It would suggest they don't know much about porsches - only on a later (post 06) 997.1 do you need to split the engine to do the IMS.

Hi I would ask them if they have the tools for setting pinion depth,this is critical to ensure box lasts a long time.
