US Customers save manual gearboxes

Well, it's official apparently. US Porsche buyers are keeping the manual gearbox in 911's and those other little mid engine Porsches going. You can thank America.

The US is generally a fan of the stick shift. An A8 is just over a second quicker in the quarter mile compared to the M6. But a lot of guys and girls still went for the manual gearbox. The manual box just makes it more involving. But with big horsepower cars such as the Cat, King Kong there is a lot to be said for not having to worry about gear changes and just concentrate on keeping the bloody thing on the road when you nail it
