Quick question - puncture repair..?

My wife has been told by Porsche that they won't do a normal tyre repair for a simple nail penetration and that they cannot even just replace the one tyre - all 4 have to be done to maintain balanced wear...?

I say screw 'em. Any recommendation for an upper level mobile tyre repair chappy for sports cars etc?

Depending on where the nail has penetrated the tyre it should be repairable to British Safety standards by any reputable tyre outlet. Occasionally it may need to be sent away.

I've lost count of how many puncture repairs I've had - all without issue.

I know Porsche don't do repairs though.

Agreed. Had them done on my R8 without any issue at all.

Sounds like Porsche BS to me.

Can't really answer without knowing: 1. Where on the tyre did the nail penetrate? 2.How much tread is left on the other tyres?

And, for Porsche purposes are they N spec?

As Above - it's very possible to repair a tyre if the damage is within the permitted tolerance (I've had 1 front and 1 rear with no issues) and needing to replace all 4 is utter horse manure. No car wears all four corners at the same rate.

Go to your local grubby tyre place - don't worry, they're all grubby, it's not a bad thing - and they'll fix it for about £20.
