Cayenne GTS or Diesel S

Hi Guys,

Looking to get a cayenne preferably the new model but the configuration I want had not been released yet.
Anyone had experience with the current diesel S and GTS?

or even Hybrid?
I'll be swapping a 997 Turbo S as family has grown but would still like a car that can be enjoyed.

Current Diesel S is a fantastic bit of kit....0-60 in 5.5 Secs and mid 30's mpg on a run. I think the GTS has slightly firmer suspension, not really sure I'd want that. Also i'm told the GTS seats aren't as comfortbale as the the standard seats. Decent review here of the GTS

Whichever one you choose they're very capable cars....great for covering big distances in comfort but also still being fun to drive...for an SUV.

Clearly the GTS has a petrol engine so that could be a big draw if you're worried about diesel.

I don’t really like the line-up of the new Cayenne and interested to see if they new Hybrid will be the same as the Panemera with 460bhp. If it is I will probably order one of those but will want another model in between.

You will be waiting a good while if you want a GTS in the new shape.

When I spoke to my dealer last week about the car he said they the hybrid and diesels are unlikely to be released until late this year/early next year for ordering.

The GTS is unlikely to be available at the earliest until the 2019 model in line with Porsches normal model line release.

Like has been mentioned subject to the hybrid being the same as the panamera that will be my model of choice.

On the view of ordering a new one once released which model would you go for as an in between .

Anyone been given any indication of pricing for the Hybrid ? It's pricing is quite punchy on the Panamera

In terms of what model - personally I will order the hybrid as we have recently moved and now have a nice big garage where we can have a high power charging point (if you cant charge it you wont get the benefits). Also our use involves a lot of town driving which destroys the mpg on our current gts.

I would caveat though if the gts was available at the same time that would be my choice. As a parts bin special it typically blends all the best options at a good package price plus a small power enhancement and a few other extras. plus residual retention is normally better as there is not the need for as many options.

In terms of pricing I am not sure but the new model pricing seems to following the previous metric for the Cayenne in terms of the relative differences between the models so I think the expectation would be circa £4k above the new S.
