Help! Just about to order a new Cayman GTS when I was told the tax will be £855 in the first year and £450 for the next 5. I need to be persuaded to continue with my order.

Don't often agree with that Greer woman, but she had it right on QT last night. Charging people won't solve global warming.

Anything over 40k is extra £310 year after first year

Strange policy change as practically all cars are £140 a year with extra for expensive cars

No incentive to by low emissions - apart from 0 emissions EV

Bloody hell - I’d completely forgotten about that ! Lucky for me it’s free on my imaginary 991.2 GT3 - bargain (as is the fuel which is also free - liking my new car more and more)

There are two thoughts on global warming - man-made so stop subsidising reproduction and start taxing children with rebates for vasectomies; not man-made cope with the fallout of increased solar activity. Either way, taxing carbon based fuels is p*ssing in the wind!

My 991 C2S bought late last year is £170 per year (renewal came through last month) and I think there was a minimum premium in the first year. The E43 last month was about £1250 if I remember correctly for the first tax. I don't mind the new tax - it's been clear for a while what it would be.

The C2S is a vehicle tax bargain though smile
