A proper Lotus at last :-)
Discussion
Personally despite almost complete agreement that the Elise is a driving weapon. It never did anything for me, and the more they fiddle with it and release more specials the less it does for me.
It has the right brief however...
A s far as Lotus is concerned, the answer for me was and is Evora GTE - made available again...and I'm talking about the look. It had and still has things and wings about it, the re-styled stuff just doesn't come close to.
just a personal opinion. I really hope tye get back to where they used to be (I'm thinking proper 911 competitor and above - as well as Boxster/Cayman stuff)

Such a soft spot for Lotus. The extruded chasis of the Elise was such a game changer. Stiff and light. Propper little sports cars. Did a lot of demonstration driving for them after the launch. Frustrating time. Bits kept falling off, roll control at the rear was hopeless. I've got a S1 sport 190. Supercharged 300bhp. Lovely thing. Real drivng tool.
If they get the engineering right, that will be a nice car. I prefer driving big GT cars though, more fun

You sound like a potential buyer, I like it too but would you / will you stump £100k for one ?
yes, I think I would, I was about to buy a Sport 350 for £48k anyway , as new cars are pissing me off with all this eps crap lolBut this thing is now a proper tool, I doubt a GT3 would see where it went, there are already modded Exiges going just as fast on track than even the Manthy tuned RS 991.
So this thing is going to hit some spots other cars cannot reach. proper gears, proper brakes, 3 way dampers, 409hp/ton, it's a car I have been waiting for, now is it worth twice the price of a 2nd hand Sport 350 ! agggg I was going to mod the sport 350 so maybe it is worth the £100k asking price.

looks superb, but 100k...i think not
this should be around 75k
and the Sport 380, more like 65k
Lotus prices are bonkers....
could get a 991.1 GT3 for 10k more....
A 991.1 GT3 does not offer anything I want it's 3 years old with a engine which will fail, has gen 1 eps and is an automatic lolthis should be around 75k
and the Sport 380, more like 65k

Yes Lotus should be cheaper but nothing they have built has been like this imo. To mod a car with proper 3 ways, AP j hook disks, charge coolers, comp Clutch, ti echausts etc would cost more to do on a base car than you can buy this for, so it is what it is I guess. the sport 380 over the 350 just seems a bit naff and the cup 380 again not really moving the game on over a sport 350 lower rpm's heat issues etc etc , this imo has moved the game on with all that kit and 409hp/ton.
It's got to make you want to drive it, and that for me is what it is all about.
I really thought this would get some people excited, it's like the 997 4.0 RS in the Lotus world.
GT4 feels more hard core than a GT3 these days so one has to move brands if you want that interaction and no one else is doing stuff like this.

Sorry, its not a £100k car. It will be fast - if it hangs together but that its it. if you want a small missile, theres a lot out there for that money. You can get a V8 radical for that but they are all a bit boring. Not a challenging or rewarding drive. My experience with Lotus was that the only real challenge was trying to stop the things from falling apart. I love my Elsie but it spends more time in the garage than it does on the road. Pretty involving though but thats it. I'll take a GT3 or a GT4 all day long thank you. Nothing rewards like getting the most out of a big GT car - especially if the engine is in the back
