It's probably been underwritten...dark arts of auction houses. Means both seller and auction house are guaranteed a sale...and whoever underwrote it will get part of RM's commission.

Drove kermit green one of these last year at Bruntingthorpe - it was just fabulous. Genuinely quick with about 500 bhp and p/w slightly better an F40 - narrow, biddable and a genuinely charismatic turbo lump. So much more of a challenge/rewarding to drive than the modern - albeit amazingly competent pork turbos on offer

Mintbird - i hope you enjoyed the car - i would love to be able to bid with intent!

Wow... would love that. Is it a "Yellowbird" or was that a nickname just given to the yellow one?

Yes it's an original Yellowbird and a Clubsport to boot.
RUF bought a handful of chassis direct from Porsche (about 25 from memory) then just under 30 other's were converted at RUF. So a total of just under 60 CTR's in total were made. This is most likely the only one in Mint green. I'm not sure how many were clubsport.

29 originals i understand - there was a mint green CTR for sale with Auto Singen last year/year before - so maybe this is the same car - had done a highish mileage but was mint (sorry!) - good to see that it was used and if the same car it means next owner does not have to be inanely preoccupied with keeping the mileage low/not driving it. Proper drivers car - hopefully will end up with an enthusiastic new owner

What an amazing car, is that one of the original ones or converted to yellowbird spec? Estimate would suggest the latter...

conversion done in 1991, engine number 048. probably one of the last ones produced in period.

i realise its a special car but an estimate of Euros 275,000 starting price for a 200,000km car seems crazy
