GT car - Roll cage removal?
Discussion
Has anybody bought a clubsport spec GT car with Roll-cage, and then subsequently looked to remove the cage?
Roll Cage in the GT4 doesn't really serve any purpose other than looking cool and obviously the protection if you were to roll the car - but aside from that.. weight would be saved - bit of luggage space to would gained and less bongs and bangs as a result of the cage and its mounting points...
just toying with the thought really...

If you do go ahead and have it removed it'll be a hassle to do, you'll have holes in the carpets and you'll have to store it somewhere.
Surely if you don't want the cage don't buy a CS-spec car?
I was just asking the question... has anybody done it?... or heard of it being done?... was there hassle? I personally very happy with the car and it is a CS spec - it's a bit of an event because of the spec which is great - just wanted to explore the options and peoples thoughts. I'm one of those people that like to look at all the options and possibilities.Surely if you don't want the cage don't buy a CS-spec car?
Also maybe someone would like to have a CS-spec car because it has all the options and preparation - carpet-pre-cuts - battery kill, harnesses, extinguisher, - etc etc.. and that maybe could be more desirable down the line than a non-cs spec car- but for a period of their ownership would like a more comfort spec. Easier to take things off if they are on - rather that not being able to add them as they are not order-able without a chassis number or some other verification.

I've pondered this same question and came to the conclusion that an OPC would be the place for an answer, not that I've asked. Completely understand your motivations. Cage definitely adds to the sense of occasion and a lot of the time the crashes and bangs are part of the theatre. Sometimes however, you wonder about a gentler world ;-)
