Suspension and Tuning 964 Turbo
Discussion
Hey,
I have been on 3 track days with my 964 Turbo so far and am lovin it. Now I am considering to sell it for a 964RS (no EU cruising) or to make some modifications.
I need help from you guys as to what changes I can do to my 964 to firstly imrpove its handling and secondly speed with-out making it too uncomfortable to go cruising through the EU...and with-out burning too big a hole in my pocket...
Best
Alex

If you value your wallet, don't speak to me....
Do a search for Motec and 964 Turbo. That'll give you some idea.
If you are into track days, i'd rip out all the interior and replace front seats with SPG's. Probably cost around £2500.
You can get 380bhp with 1bar spring, filter and cat bypass. Can be done quite cheaply.
400 bhp can be eeked out but you'll be very lean and probably running nearer 1.2 bar.
Cams will give another 30-40bhp, stock cams are rubish.
Here after you enter the world of Motec. It's a very nice place to be.

[quote=turbomania]UV - until now you still seem reasonable quote]
Just be aware that once you start modifying you will keep going. So before you spend the money make sure you have the right car to start with and I don't think you have that in a 964 Turbo
993 RS much better - alternatively wait until the 997 gets announced and 996 TT take another depreciation hit - or better get a GT2 for the same cash. That way you keep this Turbo feeling and have track focus and retain some of the comforts you so desperately need...
Having read some of the recent treats its GT2 discount week anyway
everyone is buying one so there will be no cars left soon!!

It would take less cash to get with in 50kg of an RS, than you'd loose swapping cars. It's also a lot easier to get BHP out of the Turbo.
That being said, if you are after lap times, 993rs is probably the only sensible place to be.
You might want to embark on building a 964 Turbo RSR...
If you are thinking of attending Vmax, you'll need the turbo(s)...
