I visit salvage sites for fun every once in a while. but today I came across something special...

https://auctions.motorhog.co.uk/vehicle-list/detai...

I just can't stop thinking about this! I want to place a bid, but my brain knows the repair bill will go through the roof.

What are your opinions?

you have to put down a 5K deposit, before bidding.

Food for thought smile

Possibly every factor is against me smile. But the car guy in me won't let it rest.

I have one of those and Porsche warned me not to crash it. The CF parts are astronomically expensive.

Trade bid on a 2016 4k miles car if mint and if c16 spec would be £165k.

With its history this car would be £130k to £140k properly repaired.

The damage to the osr quarter is prob more significant than it looks.

Obvious extensive repairs to osf and suspension/steering etc.

Reckon you would be looking at £75k min for proper repair and whilst poss to do for less no one in their right mind would want a dodgey repaired/set up RS.

£60k tops imo.

I have absolutely no engineering background whatsoever but surely with a shunt like that car has taken all sorts of components in the suspension/chassis will have taken an impact that means that whilst they may look "okay" to the naked eye may have been weakened ? Not sure given the intended use for something like an RS that's a good thing!

Apologies for no response - busy working.

Spoke the dealer and without actually sounding desperate, they begged me not to buy it.

The dealer sent paperwork of the repair bill and it wasn't bad. But for the price, I could just get one from AutoTrader without a Cat.

Curious - what did the estimates for repair look like?

The car, assuming that it drives straight, looks eminently repairable, I guess it will go for strong money.

There's at least one key, but it's all scratched up...
