On the 911 review good to see even back then the journo recognised the need for (manual) driver engagement in his 911...;)

Indeed. I wouldn't spec. PDK now, but at least that is a bloody good box....tiptronic was truly awful!

I notice that the 964 tested is still on the road today.

I bought a 964 C2 cabrio WTL tiptronic in 1998 and sold it last month. 19 years of pleasurable, moderate cost, Porsche ownership. Not everyone wants to be a track-day demon... The only work ever done to the tip-box was to change the oil cooler pipes. The market believes that WTL cars are more desirable than standard body cars and thus command a considerable premium... but beauty is indeed in the eye of the beholder...

I'm now running around with a younger model... a 2012 Cayman
