Cayenne mileage
Discussion
I am toying with the idea of buying a Cayenne plug in Hybrid. Can any one give me a realistic mpg for these. I have had a Mitsubishi plug in which claimed 144 mpg . In reality it has averaged for me 70ish which is great. The Cayenne claims 94mpg but what is the reality of these.
Thanks in anticipation

That doesnt sound very good but I guess you must do quite a lot of miles on a daily basis. I am now retired so do only 30ish miles a day (golf club and back) most days, so I guess plugging in each day will make a huge difference for me!!
If you can plug it in totally changes it because you'll be able to run just on electricity as it has a 20 mile range (ish) just on the battery. It really only makes sense if you can do that or you enjoy the tax breaks...running it pretty like a normal car as above and you're lugging around 300kg of weight you're not really getting max benefit from.
Not a Cayenne, but similar in architecture. Hybrid MPGs are highly unrealistic for most.

I ran one for six months and plugged it in every day at my office (but not at home). A 28 mile round-trip mainly on electric and averaged 50+ mpg over a long period without longer journeys (30 miles+)
If you don't plug it in you'll average about 27mpg, so the moral is plug it in, use it for local journeys (<30 miles) and you'll get the best from it. If you do a lot of longer journeys buy a Euro-6 (post October 2014) 3.0 Diesel (also had one of those) and averaged late 30s mpg.
