Wondering what a fair price is considered to be? For instance this looks a lovely car, but over the odds on price?

www.dealers.motortrak.com/cgi-bin/ind-sdetail.cgi/top555?vid=9102753&dealer=12552&orderby=price_desc&c_dealer=12552&pn=11

What would be a reasonable price do you think?

Also anyone recognise the car?

Difficult to say - it is a clubsport which will push its price up a bit due to the scarcity. Also only 11K miles which helps the price. For that price I would want the full Porsche warranty thrown in...even then maybe a tad pricey, but thats what happens when buying from a dealer - they need their margin.

I don't think the asking price is too bad. You'd get a discount of course if you ask.

There are Mk2s for not much more money though.

that's the point.was on this forum last week on behalf of my cousin asking about mk 2 prices.this weekend he bought an 04 car with 2300 miles for 59k and I've seen others with more miles for even less.makes 55k for an 11k mile mk1 too much in my book even though some prefer them.there are mk1's being advertised privately for a lot less.

Yep thats pretty much my thinking. I think they are assuming a healthy premium because it does look pretty mint. I plan to use the car though, so not worth it to me. I do understand that dealers need to charge a premium, and that they'd probably negotiate, but I suspect not as far as I'd want to go!

there are a fair few mk2 gt3's at non porsche dealers it seems.these cars are often taken in px for more 'glamorous' merchandise because the gt3's previous owners had perhaps bought the 'wrong' thing (very focussed, not flashy etc).the non porsche dealers struggle to sell them on because they have a different customer base and bargains can emerge. We saw at least 3 lovely, low mileage,mk 2 cars at non porsche dealers and ended up buying one.the other benefit is that dealers will also extend the warranty into the bargain.

Did you find the dealers very willing to negotiate on price if the cars are sticking to the forecourt a bit? Doesn't necessarily bode well for resale once my funs done - at least not until there is a price adjustment.

Anyone got an idea when the 997GT3 is scheduled?

found dealers very willing to negotiate.mk 2's may not be rare but they are now sensational value as far as i'm concerned trading at a discount to the 997's.Can't imagine there's a lot more downside from around the 60k level. As to the 997 gt3 i would guess early/mid next year.

My main concern is 996TTs putting a downward pressure on GT3s. I guess it depends how many GT3 buyers actually want something track biased as opposed to posing about.

Given that there are a load of 996TTs at the same money as this GT3 CS, I'm pretty sure its well over market.
