991 GT3 Rear Wing Removal / Delete
Discussion
Has anyone done it (on a 991.1)?
I have seen pictures of what looks like US based owners doing it shortly after the 911R was announced, but having done a fair few Google searches I can't find a breakdown of what's involved, part numbers required etc.
I've seen a lot of scaremongering posts about removing it will turn it into some of undriveable death trap, which I do not believe in the slightest - just in case someone's thinking of mentioning it!

I don't use the car as a track day vehicle anymore so any downforce lost above 110mph is irrelevant to me. The GT3 makes decent downforce for a road car, but it is still nothing like an actual race car, so I have absolute confidence I'll notice zero difference.
A mate's got a 911R and you're right, makes a big difference in a straight line though as it's noticeably quicker without the draggy wing!

perhaps u would have been better off with a GTS.........i am not a big GT3 fan , recently parted with a 991 gt3 rs, a fabulous car ;i used to drive a 993 rs into work in a big City for some years ,
fwiw the new gt3 seems very appealing........
its taken Stuttgart a while to attain the balance etc why spoil the package?..........promise the wing is not draggy when balanced out numerically overall .............enjoy the sidewinds ,they ll keep u alert in the trim your proposing
