Just called my dealer to book in for a minor fault. Car under warranty 2.5 years old.

Was told they don't book in for faults, call Porsche Assist and they will come out to look at it?

WTF?

Depends on the fault I guess - if it's not safe to drive???

"ACC / PAS inactive. Service Required."

So no issue can be driven round fine.

I just don't see the point in wasting the AA's time, there is nothing they can do for that fault. Reading online it seems the most common fix is to replace the radar unit. I am sure it will cost Porsche a lot more to recover the car than me just drop it off? Seems crazy.

The dealer was basically not interested in taking the car in and just pretty much said they would leave it with me and put the phone down.

just do it,

my mate did this 3 days ago with a car with a small fault, OPC said 6th feb bring it in or call PA,, he called PA, they took it away Porsche gave him a JAG and he has his car back fixed already ! with zero OPC calls or hassle,

we have life style cars now, this is why we pay so much for service etc, you have to get used to a "lifestyle" product , you don't find the uber rich going to dealers.

had a similar experience

I think OPC's are 'using' PA as a means to get cars in quickly & effortlessly, and loan cars direct to customers.
makes their whole operation simpler.

Worked well for me smile
