Mods for 987 or just get 997S Cab

I really enjoy the handling of the 987 Boxster S. I have the ability to go up to a 997CS Cab, have to wait maybe a month for it to get in. Knowing this, should I get the 987, mod it a bit or just go with 997CS Cab and get the extra power, less fun handling, more prestige? I'm having a serious conflict here. Maybe it is just because I don't have a 997 sitting in my garage as a demo right now... instant gratification is a bi@tch.

If you can go for the 997, you've got to, modding the Boxster isn't going to make it feel anyway as special as the 997.
You'd have to do some serious mods to get the same sort of reach the 997S engine can provide.

I went from a 996 C4S to a 987 Boxster S and being honest with myself I do miss the 'prestige' of the 911. The Boxster is a great car, and I prefer the actual driving to the 996 (hence the change) much more of the time....but the Boxster just doesn't make me turn around for a last look when parking up, and I miss that...especially when you consider how much these things cost and what premium you pay for the Porsche badge. Ultimately though, the Boxster is the best Cab out there this side of a 360/430, so it'll do for now
I am waiting for a 997 targa now I think...997 cab a little ugly and the dynamics aren't quite as good as the coupe or the boxster IMHO...at least it means I won't be selling the boxster after only 3 months LOL

How could I have ever posted that? Exactly 3 months after taking delivery of my 987'S' I swapped it for a 997 'S' cabrio, which in the flesh turned out prettier and far more accomplished than I'd thought it could possibly have been. Argghhh! hahaha

It always makes me laugh when I hear Boxster and 911 comparisons (usually by Boxster owners). The 911 might not have the great Boxster chassis, but on the road the 911 blows the Boxster into the weeds. The 911 pulls so much harder than track times indicate.
