Obtaining history from OPCs
Discussion
I was wondering if anyone knows whether its possible to obtain details of work and services done by previous owners at OPCs? More specifically at OPC Swindon, Wilmslow and West London.
This is for a car I currently own, just wanted to have more details re the history in years 1-4 of the car's life as I only have stamps in the book for that period.

I've generally found it easy to obtain history from servicing dealers for most cars I'be bought, prior to purchase.
Same with my current 981. OPC Reading were happy to oblige.
Ask nicely, don't demand.
Same experience, I rang two OPCs that had looked after mine for previous owners, explained what I wanted and why, and suggested they remove the owners details from any invoice copies they sent me. They asked me to email them proof of ownership, fair enough. They couldn't really have been more helpful.Same with my current 981. OPC Reading were happy to oblige.

Good luck with OPC Swindon. I bought my car from them last year and asked for the history as the owner had used them exclusively. They couldn't give the info at the time without the owners permission so I contacted the owner who spoke to Swindon and gave them permission to give me everything I needed. I've called them three times in the last year and each time they promise to send it via e-mail but they never do.
Guys, sorry for delayed response, thanks for the feedback.
Interesting re Porsche GB, I assume that would be the most efficient way of handling this. How old is your car? I'm wondering whether if its something they have started doing only recently?
Can I ask you how you contacted them (phone, email, etc)?

As a quick update.
I emailed Porsche Customer Services at the above address They responded quickly, first requesting proof of ownership.
Eventually (within less than 24hrs) they responded by confirming just one of the several services done at OPCs (the West London one). However, when I reiterated my wish to have invoice copies, not simply a confirmation of what is already stamped in my service book, the response I got was as follows:
"Regrettably, we do not have access to invoices etc. relating to service history within Porsche Cars GB Ltd. This information would need to be requested for via the relevant Porsche Centre and would be at their discretion should they be able to release this."
So, while helpful, ultimately they were useless in my quest. I'll try and contact the OPCs one by one whehn I manage to get round to it...
I tried calling an OPC to get details of history and was told “for data protection reasons” they wouldn’t release copies of servicing invoices, but could give a verbal confirmation that servicing had been done as per the service book stamps.
I might visit in person and see if they would show more flexibility in a face to face discussion....anyone else tried this?

Fingers crossed for you that they’re genuine, there’s lots of fake stamps out there!
Errr... do you think I didn't actually call them to check when I first bought the car 6 years ago? Thanks for the BS scare-mongering though!
