Which Porsche 997 Gen 2 Carrera 2 s or 4 s

Hi, I went through this earlier in the year, had a 993 carrera 4 back in the day & have now ended up in a 997-2 , 2S with Pdk. For me the Pdk is brilliant but you do need sports chrono on it.
As others have said the grip & steering are great, I have changed the std exhaust for a valved sports one & it now sounds great.

OP - sorry to hear about the 964 sale. I’m potentially swapping my car for a 981 GTS so drop me a line if you fancy a low mileage (c.19.8k) well looked after example. May be traded in soon.
Have had a 997.2S for 6 years now, still just as fun as the day I picked it up.
Travelled just under 50k miles in it during that time, so a fair bit of experience.
I've driven a selection of other models and I prefer the 2S over the 4 in every generation I've touched purely from the acceleration perspective.
I appreciate they are as quick as each other but the feeling of being propelled from behind in a 2S is way more fun.
I found the 4S didn't attempt to pin me to the back of the seat as much as the 2S (even a newer 15 plate C4 GTS didn't do it for me in this regard).
The car has had it's issues, nothing terminal, the coolant system has screwed me over on a few occasions requiring a recovery but generally the car isn't horrendously expensive to maintain.
As other's have already mentioned I'd personally go for the S - not just for the slight power increase but it offers a 6 speed box, PASM as standard and better breaks. I think you're in the right area generation / price-point wise anyway, I'm desperately struggling to see why I'd pay the extra money for essentially a younger version of the same car for over double the cost.
