% of 996/997 with aero kit

I'll start off by admitting I have zero facts to base this observation on but there seems to be a lot higher percentage of 996 that have some sort if aero kit fitted than there are 997 kitted cars.
Why is that? Did the 996 C4S kill off the desire for it?

My guess would be that 996.1s have the most examples of aerokits, then 996.2s. I would say the reason why is because it made a standard 996 look like a GT3, especially if you added in the Sport Design wheels, and as today, added value and desirability. Again, my guess was that the 997 GT3s were very different even from an aerokitted standard 997.

Might be that the 997 in standard form was much better received than the 996 so people felt less need to add the aerokit ?

I find plain 997s extremely dull and faux-retro, to be honest.
