968 Chassis and engine numbers
Discussion
I am picking up my 1993 968 on Sunday as a private purchase, I now have a copy of the V5 form and as a check want to be able to confirm that the chassis and engine numbers correspond with the paperwork, where do I find these please ? HPI check has come up clean but until today I did not have sight of the V5 so was a bit worried.
59,000 miler manual and with air con for £11,750, quite pleased.
Can not wait, only problem is that I still have to sell my Impreza so car will have to stay in a nearby safe place until the existing one is gone.
MY00 Impreza turbo with leather and air con, good nick 60,000 miles being serviced today, £10,000 ono.
Anyone interested phone me on 07742 409166, hope I have'nt broken any rules.

I don't know for sure on a 968 but assuming its similar to a 944 you'll find the VIN number on a plate behind the windscreen on the nearside (visible from outside) and repeated on a paper sticker behind the carpet in the boot on the inside "between" the rear lights, if you get me.
The paper sticker will also have all the option codes the car had at build time, AND will be repeated in the service book (its attached to page 3 of mine).
I imagine the engine number is on the engine somewhere ...
Finally don't be surprised if when you compare the VIN with the V5 to find that all the Zs have turned into 2s. The DVLA seem to love doing this.
Enjoy the car!
Dan
BTW, if none of this applies to the 968 and you can't find any of it ... sorry
