According to this German site they've had to stop selling new cars in Europe as they can't meet new emissions regs

http://www.faz.net/aktuell/wirtschaft/unternehmen/...

Just tried this with several models on the Porsche GB site and get the following

"Due to an upcoming revision of specification, this model is not currently available for configuration as a new factory order. Please continue to use the Car Configurator to explore the model. For more information regarding availability please contact your preferred Porsche Centre."

It's the same story as has been commented upon here a few weeks ago.

What is surprising is that it has taken so long to appear in a newspaper.

It's all over Google right now.

Should push up the value of mine nicely now no more new cars will ever be built.

At least they've taken the correct action this time and self-regulated themselves before another scandal. No doubt other VAG brands will cease to exist too.

Farewell Porsche.

Amazing how value always makes its way into almost every thread.

Not the only manufacturer to do this, Mini are stopping production of JCW until March 2019.
All down to particulate filters and new EU emission regs and WLTP or real world emissions testing

Given most cars haemorrhage the money you invested from the day you take delivery, is it really that amazing? However futile it may be, surely most people give some consideration if theres a way to stem the flow, even if they don't say it openly.

Apart from the new Hybrid, all the Cayennes have been showing that message for a couple of weeks. It popped up a couple of days before I took delivery of mine.

We’ve been talking about it on here for at least a couple of months now, not really new news, but it is amazing that the press have only just latched onto it.

It's got to create a hole in the revenue of the dealers this year. The new emissions regs are much tougher to meet than the old ones, which were ridiculously easy going. It seems to have caught the manufacturers out a bit.

Last year they temporarily stopped Euro delivery for North America for similar reasons. Affected me.

They’ve ordered loads of stock cars in, you can still walk into a dealer and purchase a new car, you just can’t currently spec one.

And if you ordered a car now, you would normally expect to wait 6 months plus for it anyway, and in 6 months (well 4 months) theyll start producing again, so it’s really not that bad.

And there was me thinking I'd been sufficiently tongue in cheek!

Does that mean the 911 991 is still being produced post restart or it goes to the 992?

I had no joy in finding a stock targa or being offered a new one inside 2 years for what it's worth

Are there really plenty of cars kicking around? Risky if they get it wrong as they have to be registered by end Aug.

Mind you, saw a TV advert last night for Macan which surprised me in view of the lead-time for them.

Looks like Sytner have removed all diesels from the Porsche Used Car Locator?

My OPC is getting four GTS’s, not sure what flavour.
